If you've always wanted to know how metal and jazz go together, this might be your chance to find out! I still don’t know if they do, but nevertheless, this was definitely a fun song to make!

I feel like this song in particular could use some explanation, as it’s quite different from what I’m used to do, which is also why it’s part of my solo project. Also, I feel like it may not be appropriate to put out a song this cheerful and positive at these times of wars and post-pandemic, but let me give some context.

The main elements of this song were written already a few years ago and I put it all together after I thought this would be perfect song to start my EP/album about a year ago. In short, the whole release is about the darkening of the year and its effects, meaning mainly the fall time. I wanted the release to be chronological, so it starts from the sunny, positivity of it all and goes towards the fall and the darkness. That is why I wanted to emphasize the lightness and positivity of this song, so much so, that it turned out very laid-back, although foreshadowing the upcoming fall.

Like the whole release, the lyrics are addressing the Sun, although they are written in a way they could be speaking to a person, which is part of the “humanization” of the Sun, why it comes and goes and sometimes doesn’t come back when is expected to. As usual, "parasol" has double meaning, besides sun protection, it depicts a picture of the Sun having two sides, one of light, one of darkness. This is the time of the record the Sun is around, shining as bright as ever, everything being great and effortless while having a little concern about it leaving and not coming back. That is why the lyrics at the end of the song go: “You shine it all away now, you save always my day, how, please don’t go away”.
